I really love decorating cookies, though until a few years ago I didn’t really know I had a talent at it.
While working for photographer Lew Robertson, I walked on set one day when they were shooting cookies and the food stylist, Maelle, asked if I wanted to decorate some. Sure? Why not?
I sat down at the counter and began to play with the various colors of icing and sprinkles and things that were laid out. Before I knew what was happening, Lew had grabbed some of the cookies and put them on set and from then on, I was sort of known as The Cookie Lady.
For the cookies, I use the no-fail sugar cookie recipe from Fancy Flours and their royal icing recipe… or sometimes I get the Wilton premade cookie icings and writers if I don’t feel like making all the colors myself.
